Tina and James

Monday morning wouldn't be complete without a new post.

Brace yourselves for Tina and James amazing wedding. Located at the Haig Brown House in Campbell River. The sun was shining, the breeze was light, the flower girls adorable, the day.. wonderful.

Also you may want to brace yourselves and wiggle in anticipation of a new website update and brand new blog, coming soon... very soon!!! I'll keep you posted and just so thrilled to be working once again with the amazing Jeremy Latham, who is now is living in Campbell River!!! What does this mean? Besides that I will have instant harassing access, to him and his lovely fiance! (background info HERE) It means that any of you Campbell River businesses that are looking at having your website or blog more incredible, professional and all together better, the BEST has just moved here! Give him a call. You will not be disappointed.

Now, back to Tina and James, and their wedding.

And a few favorite reception moments. This little guy tried forever to blow out the candle through the glass, so sweet. Everyone LOVES when grandma can out dance everyone on the floor!

And a few of my non traditional trademark favorites.

Feelin lucky....

I entered a contest a while back called "kids being kids", just for fun... and I won. If you pick up this months copy of Photo Life, you'll see my photo in it.

Twice in one month, that's it, I'm entering more! Feeling lucky!

The image was of the most amazing little girl named Ryann, she was hamming it up for the camera and being so darn adorable, I felt more people should see her and all of her amazing energy!

More posts to come from this past weekends shoots... stay tuned.

a bit of recognition never hurt...

Well folks its official. Erin Wallis Photography has placed second in the WedComp International Wedding Image contest, under the "Portrait" category!!!

Generally, I don't enter contests, don't join photo groups, forums or clubs. Although I realize its a wonderful way to network and learn. At times I find it all a bit like information overload, and its all a bit hard to swallow. But then again, I did spend a great deal of my life working around 15 different photographers at all times, from all different backgrounds and walks of life... so I am not opposed to the idea. I'm just blazing my own little path here, I suppose.

Last year, I decided to enter a photo contest randomly. Much to my surprise, I placed second in the portrait category. It was certainly unexpected as the sheer volume of submissions are overwhelming, but I am truly honored to place at all. (not to mention the talented photographers that entered)

For so many reasons the above image of Kim Black is an instant favorite, and although I know I love it, and my mom loves it... it certainly is nice to be recognized by my peers, and some of the leading photographers in the industry. Thank you!!!

I've also just noticed that another image of the beautiful Katy, placed 15th as well. Maybe I should enter more competitions? Off to a wonderful wedding tomorrow in Parksville... beaming with joy.

Canvases and Art

I love having space. Having time. Having silent moments to regroup. To create. I love decorating our home (consisting mainly of many photo canvases). Spending time with our puppy. I really love re-visiting images from 2008 and creating special one of a kind art pieces for my clients homes. We have just created this one, from our August session. I can't WAIT to see it big, and on their wall (shhh don't tell the fella if you recognize him... its a secret)!

If you are interested in turning any of your images from a session with us into amazing art pieces just email me for more information. This goes for family, maternity, babies, and WEDDINGS!!! Just drop me an email and I'll be happy to let you know about pricing and sizing etc... Have a fabulous Friday, and an amazing weekend!
