On the mend

Dear Maisie, Today, may be one of my favorite days ever. Lawns mowed, house painted and a baby girl (you) on the mend. Close to heavenly.

Seeing you smiley and happy after a few days of serious un-happiness... is cause for celebration. Health is nothing to be taken for granted. Another lesson (big enough thank you universe) in appreciating good health and each other. xo

(You had Bronchiolitis) A few trips to the emergency room, and a whole lot of doctors and medication and nebulizers later, we're back on track-ish. So grateful. So so so grateful.

Letters to Maisie

Dear Maisie, You woke up with a stuffy nose this morning. I took one look at you and knew it would be an... anything you'd like sort of day. So we spent a lot of time snuggling on the couch. Watching movies. Eating blueberries. You were extra snuggly at nap time, so I took advantage of it, and we just rocked and hugged and sang songs. You hugged me back and hummed along. Small arms wrapped around my neck. Your little fingers getting tangled in my hair. Every once and a while, you would pull away and look me straight in the eye and give me a huge smile, then bury your head into my shoulder again. It melted me. You will one day not want to wrap your arms around my neck, and will likely not need me to snuggle you for hours. But for now, it sure feels amazing. So lucky. Sleep well my little peach, xo

A labor of love

I'm not the baby book girl. I have written down very little. I'm not best at recording what day you first smiled, first laughed, first ate solid foods. However, it is all documented. With images. A labor of love.

I've created a portion of my blog devoted to Maisie Lu. "Letters to Maisie". I'm not exactly sure what the format will be yet, but I do know it will be full of Maisie Lu, our daily adventures and I'm excited about one day, being able to look back on my own version of a baby book, with Maisie... and remember it all.

Clicking on the category "Letters to Maisie" on the side of my blog will take you to our daily adventures and my letters to my girl.

All of your comments and love and support on my journey this far as a new mom, have been so comforting and inspiring. Thank you for your love. xo
